Baptism of Children

Parents should not defer baptism for children. The sacrement is most appropriately adminstered in the context of the Sunday Mass. It is the custom at Saint Johns for boys to have two godfathers and one godmother and for girls to have two godmothers and one godfather. The godparents should also be baptized and confirmed in a Christian church.

Baptism of Adults

Baptism for adults is performed following a period of instruction with a member of the clergy Adult candidates for baptism have sponsors at the time of baptism.
